Dr Phillip Hellman - Principal
BSc (Hons 1),
DipEd, PhD, MGSA, MAEG, FAIG
Phillip is a consulting resource geologist and geochemist with over thirty
years experience in mineral exploration and the advanced evaluation of mineral
projects. He is a founding partner of H&S and is involved in numerous minerals
projects within Australia and overseas and is based in H&S’s Sydney office. He
served on Australia's Joint Ore Reserves Committee (JORC) as an Australian
Institute of Geoscientists’ representative for 13 years.
Some of his exploration and mineral evaluation activities have included:
 | resource estimation and
geological studies of base metal, porphyry copper, SXEW copper, nickel
sulphide and nickel laterites, rare earth elements, silver, niobium, tantalum,
uranium and gold projects including setting up quality control systems for
sampling and assaying, the design and use of computer-compatible drill logs,
geological modeling, grade estimation and pit optimization

 | development of reconnaissance
and detailed follow-up geochemical techniques for tropical and oxidized
terrains in South-East Asia, SW Pacific and West Africa especially with
respect to stream-based BLEG and metal-specific techniques
|
 | detailed evaluation of mineral
projects for IPO/Prospectuses, Definitive Feasibility Studies and joint
venture opportunities
|
 | review and audit of mineral resource studies, with particular attention to
quality control, identification of assay bias and suitability of assay
techniques
|
 | provision of expert witness statements and testimony to legal and
regulatory authorities in Australia and overseas concerning minerals-related
litigation
|
 | detailed assessment and resource
estimation of some of the world’s most significant rare earth element deposits
such as Mt Weld and Mountain Pass.
