Simon Tear

Simon Tear is a consulting resource geologist with over twenty three years experience in mineral exploration and the advanced evaluation of mineral projects. He has a B.Sc (Hons) in Mining Geology from the Royal School of Mines, Imperial College, UK. He has worked for RTZ/CRAE/Rio Tinto, Noranda Pacific, Western Metals and Birla Mt Gordon. He has also acted as a consultant for a number of years prior to joining Hellman & Schofield. He- has worked in mineral exploration in several countries including Australia, UK, Ireland, Finland, Portugal, Germany and Indonesia. He has worked on a multitude of commodities in a wide range of geological scenarios including sediment hosted Pb/Zn, sediment hosted copper, Cu/Au porphyry systems, vein gold deposits, platinum group minerals, silica sand, coal and diamonds. He has the Professional Geologist accreditation from the Institute of Geologists of Ireland, and is a member of the AusIMM and the Institute of Materials, Metallurgy and Mining.
