Nicolas Johnson
BSc (Hons), MAIG
Nic is employed with Hellman & Schofield in their West Australian Perth
office as a consulting geologist. Before joining H&S, he worked for various
mining companies on gold projects in Western Australia over a period of seven
years. Most recently, Nic worked as a Senior Mine Development Geologist with
Reynolds Australia Metals Inc. at their Yilgarn operations and a consulting
geologist with FSSI from mid-1995 to 1998.
Nic's work with these companies and H&S includes:
 | providing consulting services to mining companies in mineral resource
evaluation of operating mines and exploration projects. A major component of
work is to provide advice on open cut grade control procedures emphasising the
necessity of good sampling practices and quality control monitoring of the
entire sampling protocol. This includes conducting orientation studies to
develop appropriate grade control procedures and optimised ore selection
strategies.

Australia and Thailand

 | estimating mineral resources using various geostatistical methods and
conversion to reserve inventories through open pit optimisation (Whittle4D)

at various gold mining operations.
