Arnold van der Heyden
BSc, MAusIMM
Arnold is employed with H&S in their Sydney office as a resource geologist. He
has over twenty-five years experience in resource evaluation and mine geology.
Arnold has worked for North, BHP, MMM and Savage River Mines in a wide variety
of commodities and types of deposits, both in Australia and overseas.
Arnold's work with these companies and H&S includes:

resource estimation of gold, base metals, iron ore and uranium in a variety of
projects using classical and geostatistical techniques
·
experience in a variety of deposit types including copper porphyries, Archean
and hydrothermal gold, volcanogenic massive sulphides, unconformity related
uranium, Proterozoic banded iron formation
·
due diligence and feasibility studies on copper, gold and iron ore deposits
·
comprehensive experience in mine geology, including grade control and mine to
mill reconciliation
·
audit of mine geology systems, resource databases and resource estimates
·
design, implementation and management of drilling programs
·
assessment of quality control issues such as drill hole sampling, assay
accuracy and precision
·
advice on preparation of JORC compliant resource statements
·
experience in financial modelling of mine projects and technical evaluation of
merger and takeover targets
·
the ability to develop and implement innovative solutions to mining problems
·
experience in Datamine, Surpac, Whittle and Vulcan mining software
